Covington Associates Consulting is supportive of the once-in-a-generation effort to remove the highly toxic NY 33 Kensington Expressway. The roadway was used to damage the East Side community's formerly majestic Humboldt Parkway. The parkway's 100ft. wide, grassy, tree lined, public parkland median was ruined, to make way for the 1950s era Federal-Aid highway's construction.

The City of Rochester (NY) has a lead role in removing the municipality's Inner Loop Highway. An approximately $22Million investment, thus far, has yielded over $200Milion in benefits to the freeway's surrounding community and its neighborhoods. If highway removal is good enough for Rochester, and for North Buffalo, why not East Buffalo as well?
